WASHINGTON, D.C.- Congressman Theodore C. Jameson was elected House Majority Whip by fellow Democrats after an emergency election this morning. Yesterday, Former House Majority Whip Erin Granger, a Congresswoman from Illinois, announced her resignation as soon as a new whip had been chosen. After a tight, but close race against Congresswoman Hillary Brocklin of Virginia, Congressman Jameson came out with a slight higher vote than Ms. Brocklin. Congressman Jameson expressed his thanks to the Democratic House Caucus. He made a short comment afterwards:
“It is an honor to be given this opportunity by my caucus, to serve as their Whip in the House. We will continue to prosper and grow as the session continues and I look forward to another successful House Majority with the Democrats next session.”
